Mullet Festival of Swansboro

Saturday, October 14th - Sunday, October 15th

If you’re a southern seafood fan, then you’re going to love the annual Mullet Festival of Swansboro. This two-day affair features a wealth of ways to enjoy this local crystal coast staple, as well as plenty of games and activities that celebrate the food, flavor, and all around fun of the heart of Swansboro and the North Carolina coastline.

Mullet is a popular catch in the waters that surround Swansboro and the Crystal Coast, and during this weekend festival, visitors can enjoy this tasty staple in a wide array of ways. Local cooks and vendors will have plenty of mullet that’s fried, broiled, grilled, stewed, smoked, and more, and patrons will want to eat their fill and try out new recipes to celebrate the occasion. In addition to the focus on mullet, the Mullet Festival of Swansboro also features a special kids’ area with activities, inflatables, and a special “mullet toss,” a street carnival with rides and games, arts and craft vendors, and much more. With so many ways to have fun, (and free entry for everyone who wants to come and celebrate), the Mullet Festival of Swansboro is a great local way to dive into the flavor of the Crystal Coast.
